Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations. The Audi Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the United Kingdom will start operations this year. Our power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is available at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).
In the area of electric motor development (MGU-K), you will work on the key component of high-performance electric drives and contribute to competitiveness in the highly competitive F1 environment. The development of the MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit – Kinetic) ranges from the early concept phase through detailed design to validation using test bench tests.
Your tasks
Design and mechanical layout of the MGU-K as part of Formula 1 powertrain development
Consideration of mechanical, thermal and electrical requirements for the integration of the MGU-K into the overall system of the power unit
Collaboration with simulation, manufacturing and testing departments to optimize components in terms of performance and reliability
Creation and maintenance of CAD models, drawings and parts lists with CATIA V5 and PDM/PLM systems
Selection of suitable materials and manufacturing processes
Tracking and analyzing findings from testing and racing to derive constructive improvements
Conducting design reviews, preparing assembly instructions and technical documentation in accordance with FIA regulations
Interdisciplinary collaboration in the development and construction of the Energy Recovery System (ERS)
Your profile
Completed studies in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or comparable
Several years of professional experience in the design of high-performance electric motors or other drive components in motorsport
Sound knowledge of CATIA V5 and PDM/PLM systems
Understanding of mechanical, thermal and electrical requirements of high-performance drives
Experience with FIA motorsport regulations
Implementation strength as well as a high degree of motivation and initiative
Strong teamwork skills
Goal-oriented, independent and structured way of working
Decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Fluent German or English skills as well as the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
